The Situation Report Of The Fire Incident On Otedola Bridge Inward Berger  

According to Lagos State Emergency Management Agency(LASEMA)'s situation report signed by its General Manager,  Mr Adesina Tiamiyu, a Mark tanker truck loaded with 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit(PMS) moving inward of Berger at about 5:23pm fell and spilled its content on the road resulting into fire outbreak. Unfortunately 9 bodies were confirmed dead and recovered from the scene (8 adults and 1 minor). 4 persons sustained various degrees of  injuries and were taken to the hospital. A total number of 54 vehicles were completely burnt as a result of the inferno.

The report further said that,. the Agency(LASEMA)'s Response Team, Men of Lagos state Fire Service, LRU fire, LSNC, NSCDC, FRSC, LASAMBUS, LASTMA, SEHMU, LSPWC and Nigeria Police Force from Alyssa and Isheri Division were the responders present at the scene. And as at the time of the report, recovering of burnt vehicles were ongoing.

It is noteworthy that, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency(LASEMA) is the umbrella body in charge of  co-ordinating the activities of relevant agencies in prevention and management of disasters in the Lagos State. It was established vide LASEMA Law 16 of 2008 for emergency.
